“washi” is actually Japanese for Japanese Paper. Wa=Japanese, Shi=Paper. They must be used together to make sense tho. So now you know the REAL meaning of “Washi Tape”. Japanese Paper Tape.

They’re great for differentiating between chargers and other cords (especially Apple chargers and cords) if you’re sharing a living space. Simply stick the tape around the chargers. It’s easy to do and looks nice too.
The tape is in a roll so do you have to cut in the pattern you want? What is the difference from cutting and gluing patterned paper? the idea is similar to decorative duck tape, but I suppose the patterns are prettier and more than scrapbooking paper.
I think washi tape is just a little bit easier than cutting and gluing paper in some uses. The patterns are usually centered on the tape so you don’t have to worry about a perfect cut. Plus I know I love the .33 cent washi tape they sell at Michaels.
