The Perfect Harry Potter Birthday Party
One thing is true – Harry Potter fans are fierce! They know the books and movies forwards and back again. Some of them are so loyal that they’re even willing to put a Ministy of Magic sticker on their toilet.
So that’s why it makes perfect sense to throw them the Perfect Harry Potter Birthday Party for their birthdays.
However the problem at my house is that it’s filled with girly girls who want princess parties and only one man who loves Harry Potter but might be too old for a themed party.
That’s why we’re going to host a virtual birthday party for Mr. Byrd (who’s birthday is today) and show you the perfect set up for a Harry Potter Themed Party.
These are not my original ideas so if you want to Pin them, please go back to the original blog so we can give credit where credit is due.
First you have to get people to your party. If you really want to wow them, use these cute owl invites from One Creative Mommy.
I would love for one of those cute owl balloons with just a plain note to be left on my door, how exciting to be an invitation!
For the perfect Harry Potter party, you need a grand entrance. I really do not suggest that you run through a real brick wall on a train platform to hop onto the Hogwart’s Express but you can make a fake brick wall.
This great Harry Potter Birthday Party post by Home Stories A to Z will tell you how to make your own brick wall entrance and other great Harry Potter Birthday Party tips and ideas.
Next let’s swig down some classic Butter Beer.
You can find this great recipe at Design Lively for homemade butter beer.
Don’t forget the other thing you can’t live without for a Harry Potter Party – wands.
This Harry Potter wand tutorial from Sisters, What! using chopsticks and hot glue will help you make wands for everyone at the party in no time.
MarthaShmartha has one of the best ideas for a sorting hat that I’ve seen- click over there to see how they made it talk. Her blog post also has several other great party ideas including one for a live quidditch game!
These instructions from Scrapbook.com can help you make perfect potion decorations using glitter and corn syrup!
Of course we can’t forget the perfect Harry Potter Birthday cake….
Bakingdom has the tutorial to show you how to make this amazing cake. It’s mind blowing!
That’s a few great links to get you started on making the perfect Harry Potter’s birthday party.
And most importantly, Happy Birthday Mr. Byrd. I hope it’s full of chocolate frogs and giggly little girls.
